Planning to spend time outside on Friday? Expect feels-like temperatures in the upper 90s.
MINNEAPOLIS — The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Heat Advisory for the Twin Cities metro area on Friday afternoon.
KARE 11 meteorologist Tucker Antico warned residents that feels-like temperatures will around 97 degrees. The advisory will last from 1-6 p.m. in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Blaine, Chanhassen, Chaska, Shakopee, Hastings, Stillwater and Victoria.
The NWS said the hot temperatures and high humidity on Friday could cause heat illnesses. Experts advised people to drink lots of water, stay in air conditioning when possible and check up on relatives and neighbors.
If you plan to spend time outside during the Heat Advisory, make sure to wear lightweight clothing and restrict strenuous activity to the morning or night.
