Northern Minnesota man found dead after propane tank explosion leads to fire

A 57-year-old northern Minnesota man is dead after a fire burned multiple buildings in Normanna Township on Sunday, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.

A neighbor reported hearing several propane tanks explode at about 1:52 p.m. and when they went to check on it, they told investigators that multiple buildings were on fire.

When fire crews responded to the property near E Pioneer Rd. and Pioneer Jct. Rd. began working to control the fire. That’s when fire crews say they found Scott Alan Larson dead.

The sheriff’s office and the State Fire Marshal are investigating.
