HSFB: Centennial opens season with shoutout win over Rosemount

Centennial opened its Class 6A football season with a 20-0 victory over Rosemount on Thursday night, giving first-year head coach Michael Diggins his first career win.

The matchup marked a new chapter for the Cougars program as Michael made his head coaching debut after replacing his father, who remains on the Centennial staff as an assistant coach.

Centennial took control early and carried a 13-0 lead into halftime. The Cougars continued to lean on a strong defensive effort in the second half, holding Rosemount scoreless and adding to their lead to secure the season-opening shutout.
