The countdown is almost over as the Minnesota State Fair gets underway with new food, rides and vendors for fairgoers to enjoy.
Gates are set to open at 7 a.m. on Thursday morning as all the festivities get underway.

Opening day at the fair features a Grandstand performance from Bonnie Raitt, and at Dan Patch Park, it is STEM Day.
The Minnesota State Fair runs from Sept. 27 – Aug. 7.
