A person is dead after rear-ending a Metro Transit bus in Fridley on Thursday morning.
Around 7 a.m., Metro Transit police were called to the intersection of East River Road Northeast and 43rd Avenue Northeast after a crash was reported along southbound Route 827, a spokesperson for Metro Transit said.
The bus driver said they were stopped at a railroad crossing when the bus was hit; the driver of the vehicle that hit the bus was brought to the hospital, where they died, Metro Transit officials said.
The deceased driver’s identity has not been released.
No passengers on the bus were injured, but the bus driver reported minor injuries.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
