A woman is recovering after being hit by a falling tree in St. Paul’s Mears Park.
It happened around 6:40 p.m. on Friday during a Lowertown block party.
The 30-foot tree fell, trapping the woman underneath. The woman was conscious and breathing before she was taken to Regions Hospital.
People who saw the tree fall say it was shocking.
“All of a sudden, I heard multiple screams of tree, tree!” Susan Larson. “I turned around, and the tree was still falling behind me. She was very, very lucky.”
Authorities say the woman is listed as stable.
