Transparency concerns are sparking once again at White Bear Lake Area Schools as its board reprimands a member surrounding comments and actions that some consider don’t rise to that level of reprimand. 

Last month, following an outside investigation into comments made about the district’s superintendent by board member Dan Skaar, the board censured him — Superintendent Dr. Wayne Kazmierczak filed the complaint. 

Mainly focusing on comments made by Skaar about the superintendent’s job performance, and an internal email sent by Skaar to the board, the district’s outside counsel feels Skaar’s actions violated both Dr. Kazmierczak’s data privacy and the Open Meeting Law.
