What does it mean to be "Mom Enough" or "Dad Enough"

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — For 20 years, developmental psychologist Dr. Marti Erickson and her daughter, Dr. Erin Erickson, have been helping parents the best way to be "Mom Enough" (or "Dad Enough") with their podcast of the same name.

But what does it really mean to be mom or dad "enough?"

Dr. Marti Erickson said that for children to grow up well, they need secure attachment, or, in other words, parents who are sensitive, responsive, and predictable. Dr. Erickson also suggests that parents use rich language from birth; play and explore with their kids; set clear limits, but be sure to state the reasons; and give children opportunities to contribute.
