The Minnesota Class AAA State Track & Field Championships were hosted in St. Michael-Albertville this weekend, bringing together some record setting performances for a memorable finish to the season.
Wayzata Trojans’ distance program delivered a strong performance, sweeping both the boys and the girls 4×800-meter relays.
Senior Maddie Gullickson added to the Trojans’ success by winning both the 1600 and 3200 meters, while also setting a new state record in the 1600.
Hastings also enjoyed a successful weekend capturing state titles in both the boys and girls 4×200-meter relays.
Another historic performance came with Jackson Ziebarth from Cambridge-Isanti who ran a 10.37 second 100 meter dash, establishing a new all-time Minnesota best.
As the season comes to a close the Class AAA state meet once again showcased some of Minnesota’s top talent.
