A Utah father was struck by lightning Saturday evening while riding a Jet Ski off Fort DeSoto, Florida.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The man killed by a lightning strike while riding a Jet Ski off Fort DeSoto, Florida, has been identified by loved ones.

"On Saturday, August 29th, our dear friend Steve Matheson tragically lost his life in a lightning strike while riding a jet ski off the coast of Florida," a statement on the GoFundMe page read.
