A trench near Rochester collapsed on Sunday evening, killing a man in his 20s, according to the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to County Road 108 Southwest in Rock Dell Township after receiving reports of a man who was in a trench when it collapsed.
Investigators say the victim was recovered from the trench but pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s name was not released, and the sheriff’s office did not provide any information about what he was working on.
Stewartville Fire, Stewartville First Responders, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, Mayo One and Rochester Fire Department responded to the scene.
