A class-action lawsuit has been filed over an xAI data center in Mississippi, claiming it disrupts the quality of life of more than 10,000 nearby residents.
SOUTHAVEN, Miss — Several residents in Mississippi filed a class-action lawsuit Monday against xAI, SpaceX and MZX Tech LLC, alleging the constant noise and vibrations from xAI's data center in Southaven are disrupting their lives and harming their health.
The suit, obtained by WATN, a TV station based in nearby Memphis, Tennessee, was brought by DeSoto County residents Jason Haley, Preston Zane Herrington, and Taylor Logsdon. They claim the gas-powered turbines powering the data center produce "constant loud, persistent, and low-frequency noise" that negatively affects residents' basic quality of life.
