The St. Paul City Council has approved a resolution honoring House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her family.
Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark Hortman and their dog Gilbert were shot and killed by a man posing as a police officer on June 14 of last year.
As part of the decision, the City Council marked the one-year anniversary of that day as “Mark, Melissa and Gilbert Hortman Day” in St. Paul.
