Republican leaders say they did not support a motion by a delegate to take a "moment of silent prayer" for George Floyd's killer, but it went forward anyway.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Minnesota Republican leaders say they did not support a controversial motion for a so-called "moment of silent prayer" for Derek Chauvin during the state convention this weekend.

State Representative Danny Nadeau told KARE11 he tried to discourage the moment from happening while he was presiding over the convention in his role as co-chair on Saturday morning, but he says he was limited in what he could do after one of the more than 2,200 Republican delegates came forward.
