Police investigating after a person was found shot in a Mill Ruins parking lot

An investigation is ongoing after a man was found shot and pronounced dead near Mill Ruins Park in Minneapolis.

According to Minneapolis Park Police, the discovery was made at 6:40 a.m., when a caller told law enforcement there was a body inside a vehicle in the Mill Ruins lower parking lot.

When police arrived, they discovered someone inside the vehicle had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead. A firearm was found at the scene.

At this time, the manner of the person’s death has not been determined, but will be by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner at a later date.
