Hennepin County has a goal to plant a million trees by 2030.
PLYMOUTH, Minn. — Hennepin County is hoping a simple message will encourage Minnesotans to grow a greener future.
County leaders launched a new campaign called 'One, Two, Tree' aimed at helping people plant and care for more trees. The effort supports Hennepin County's climate goal of planting a million by 2030.
Foresters spent the day in Plymouth showing off the county's gravel bed nursey and sharing tips on how to choose, plant, and maintain trees.
Right now, foresters have about 60 species of trees, including many suitable for urban enviornments.
Hennepin County says it's more than halfway done with completing its million-tree milestone.
