Olmsted County hires more staff to help with increasing fraud investigations

As more fraud investigations are expected to begin in Olmsted County, additional staff have been welcomed aboard to assist.

KAAL-TV reports that Olmsted County had nearly 500 referrals of suspected fraud, all of which were then investigated. In total, $1 million was recovered through those investigations.

However, this year, the number of referrals is expected to increase by an additional 100.

To stay on top of fraud investigations, the county is using additional funding it recieved last year to hire two more fraud investigators who will work in collaboration with local law enforcement and the Olmsted County Attorney’s Office.
