A Nevada woman says an otter attacked her during a swim in Lake Tahoe, leaving her with injuries requiring 38 stitches and rabies shots.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — A Nevada woman is recovering after she says an otter attacked her while she was swimming in Lake Tahoe, leaving her with injuries that required 38 stitches.

Lynnette Bellin said she was swimming near Hidden Beach Sunday morning, Aug. 30 when something grabbed her leg and pulled her underwater. When she resurfaced, she said she saw an otter that continued attacking her.
