Molly says we turn up the heat for Tuesday and watch for increasing severe threat potential by Wednesday

A Forecast First Alert is in effect for your Wednesday. We’ll have a very warm, moist airmass in place ahead of an approaching cold front from the west. The ingredients are looking to be in place for some of these storms likely having the potential to become severe. The Storm Prediction Center has the metro under an enhanced risk, a level 3 out of 5, for severe weather. For your Monday, showers taper and we’ll see some sunshine breaking through by early evening. Tuesday, we crank up the heat and humidity with highs expected to climb into the 90’s. After midweek, we clear out our Next WeatherMaker, cooling down and drying out by the upcoming weekend with highs only climbing into the mid 70’s.
