With very warm, moist air in place, we’re watching an approaching cold front that will barrel toward the area overnight, colliding with our unstable airmass. By Wednesday afternoon the threat for some of these storms to strengthen to severe status increases. The Storm Prediction Center has the metro under an Enhanced Risk (level 3/5) for the threat of severe storms.
