MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Star Tribune announced it will lay off about 15% of its workforce, including at least 15 journalists.
The Star Tribune's Christopher Vondracek published a story for the legacy paper Tuesday evening, saying Chief Executive Steve Grove sent a company-wide memo to employees outlining the vision for adapting to a more digital-focused business model. Grove called the layoffs "necessary," as data shows fewer people are turning to physical media for news.
