For the first half of June, people can view three Minnesota panels from the AIDS Memorial Quilt at Queermunity.
The display is meant for reflection and education, 40 years after the quilt was first started as a way to memorialize and remember those lost to the AIDS epidemic.
“During Pride Month, we celebrate the progress our community has made while remembering those who made that progress possible,” said Dylan Boyer, director of development at Aliveness Project. “The Quilt reminds us that behind every advancement in HIV treatment, prevention, and care are people who fought for their lives and for future queer generations. Their stories continue to inspire the work we do today.”
