Minnesota appellate courts impacted by cybersecurity breach at vendor

The breach didn't impact the court systems or networks, but officials with the judicial branch said it impacted information from backup data.

ST PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Supreme Court and Court of Appeals were each impacted by a vendor security breach involving user data, the state judicial branch confirmed Wednesday. 

According to a press release, the breach also affected the Minnesota Tax Court and the Court of Administrative Hearings. The breach didn't impact the court systems or networks, but officials with the judicial branch said it impacted information from backup data that the courts gave to Thomson Reuters Court Management Solutions -- the courts' technology vendor.
