Minneapolis leaders say that Operation Metro Surge cost residents and businesses nearly $700 million.

City leaders are planning to discuss the updated Impact Assessment during a news conference on Wednesday morning.

The assessment covers the effects of federal immigration enforcement from December 2025 through April 2026.

According to city leaders, the operation forced many businesses to close, led to millions in lost wages and traumatized neighborhoods.

City leaders also plan to outline which neighborhoods were most affected by ICE activity and what help is next. Relief payments and other assistance will be touched on too as Minneapolis moves forward.

Speakers
