Minneapolis kicks off its summer safety initiative with a community resource fair.
MINNEAPOLIS — The city of Minneapolis held a community safety resource fair this week at Peevy Park, offering residents information on water safety, law enforcement resources, mental health support, and free gun locks and Narcan. all part of the city's broader summer safety plan.
The event is one component of Minneapolis' summer safety initiative, which coordinates efforts across multiple city departments focused on violence prevention and emergency response.
"We love coming to events like this and talking to families about, hey, what's your plan? Do you know who to call and where to go when you need help," said Rachel Sayre, director of emergency management for the city of Minneapolis.
