A McLeod County deputy is facing charges in Meeker County after allegedly pushing a pocketknife into a man’s neck at a bar in April.
McLeod County Deputy David William Olson, 46, of Grove City, was charged late last month with one count each of second-degree assault and threats of violence.
According to court records, the owner of a Grove City bar met with a Meeker County deputy on April 7 to discuss an incident that had happened at her establishment on April 4. The owner told law enforcement that at around 10:30 p.m., she asked Olson to leave after seeing him acting confrontational and fighting.
Surveillance footage from inside the establishment shows Olson pointing his fingers at someone out of view and motioning “I am watching you” at 10:33 p.m. A couple of minutes later, Olson is seen on video speaking with the victim before stumbling backward and grabbing the victim to stabilize himself, court record...
