A 24-year-old Minneapolis man is facing felony assault charges after he allegedly shot two people Friday morning on Nicollet Mall.
Court records show Talib Romeo Taylor-Bey Jr. is charged with one count each of first-degree assault and second-degree assault.

Sgt. Garrett Parten, a spokesman for the Minneapolis Police Department said a meeting between Taylor-Bey and a 25-year-old man “escalated” to gunfire just before 8:30 a.m. on Nicollet Mall near Ninth Street South.
Bullets hit the 25-year-old and a 44-year-old bystander, an employee of a business in the area who police say was cleaning the sidewalk.
