A confrontation precipitated a deadly shooting outside an Eid al-Adha prayer service at the Canterbury Park Expo Center last week, charging documents say.
Prosecutors on Monday charged 28-year-old Mohamed Abdirizak Rage with second-degree murder and unlawful gun possession for the shooting that killed Khalid Ibrahim Abdi.
Abdi was a field representative for AFSCME Council 5, which described him as a “tenacious organizing spirit” with a “warm and inviting presence.”
A GoFundMe has been created to help support Abdi’s family.
