ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A Missouri man is facing charges after police said he choked a coworker when he learned she got a promotion he applied for.

Jevon Mallory was charged with first-degree assault and first-degree burglary in connection with the June 8 incident at the Bridgeton location of McAlister's Deli in St. Louis County. 

According to the probable cause statement, Mallory arrived at the restaurant at about 10:30 a.m. and found the victim in the office of the store. He entered the office, locked the door behind him and told the woman he was going to kill her. He grabbed her by the neck, wrestled her to the ground and continued to strangle her until she went limp.
