Late Tuesday evening, the Kennedy Center announced its iconic "Blue" sculpture would be removed Wednesday morning.
The statue was unveiled in 2019, when the REACH expansion of the Kennedy Center opened. Created by artist Joel Shapiro, the statue has become a popular landmark near the Potomac River.
