ICE agent accused of pointing his gun at another car requests trial move to federal court

Court documents show the attorneys for Gregory Morgan Jr., who is facing two charges of assault, has requested to be tried in federal court.

According to those documents, the defense team is arguing that Morgan, who was operating as an ICE agent at the time of the alleged incident, is entitled to have his trial take place in federal court due to his federal agent status.

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty previously said she expected the case to move to federal court but state prosecutors would still lead the case.
