Hopkins parent urges stronger response to antisemitic graffiti at schools

“I was like, ‘Oh my God,’ I just… I was livid.”

That was Eric Mandel’s reaction to a picture his child shared with him showing swastikas drawn on the ceiling of a gender neutral bathroom at Hopkins High School, accompanied by racist and homophobic slurs.

Hopkins Public Schools is trying to figure out who’s been painting swastikas in bathrooms all semester. As they try to track down the vandals, some parents are concerned about when they learned about it.

Mandel said that once he learned about one case, it didn’t take him long to figure out there were more.
