Hopkins Police say they responded after a threatening phone call was received at an elementary school.
HOPKINS, Minn. — Two days after high schoolers in Hopkins were released early, an elementary school in the district also received a threatening phone call.
In a letter to families on Wednesday, Alice Smith Elementary School leaders stated that they received a call at the main office, which was interpreted as a threat. They added that it was similar in nature to the call Hopkins High School received on Monday. The school was then placed on lockdown.
Hopkins Police said they visited Alice Smith and worked with school staff to ensure students' safety. Police stayed at the school all day.
