The University of Minnesota and head women’s basketball coach Dawn Plitzuweit have agreed to a contract extension. She is now under contract through 2032. Plitzuweit is entering her fourth season in charge of the Maroon and Gold.
The commitment for Plitzuweit comes after a very successful 2025-26 season. The Gophers returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018. They won multiple tournament games, making it to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2005.
The Gophers have won 20 or more games in each of the three seasons Plitzuweit has been head coach.
