Courteney Ross, who was George Floyd's partner, joined a press conference condemning a moment of silence held for Derek Chauvin at the state GOP convention.

MINNEAPOLIS — In the immediate aftermath of George Floyd's death in May 2020, his girlfriend Courteney Ross was among those who helped to paint a portrait of Floyd's life for the broader public. 

With the eyes of the world on Minneapolis, Ross remained in the spotlight in 2021, when she testified in the state murder trial of Derek Chauvin as a character witness for Floyd. She was also a fixture at state and federal court appearances for the other officers involved in Floyd's death, which continued into 2022.
