For petroleum analysts, the president’s words in the next few days will have a significant impact on gas prices for the rest of the year.

DENVER — As the United States and Iran prepare to sign an agreement to end a war that disrupted global oil markets and gas prices, petroleum analysts say the price of gasoline will continue to remain volatile until the agreement is officially signed and when the Strait of Hormuz completely opens. 

The agreement is expected to be signed in Switzerland this Friday.
