Former Frost forward Britta Curl-Salemme signs with Detroit

PWHL Detroit signed forward Britta Curl-Salemme to a three-year professional women’s hockey league standard player agreement on Friday, adding the Olympic gold medalist ahead of the franchise’s inaugural 2026-27 season.

Curl-Salemme joins Detroit after two seasons with the Minnesota Frost, who selected her ninth overall in the 2024 PWHL Draft. Her new contract runs through the 2028-29 campaign.

The 26-year-old finished third in league scoring in 2025-26 with 29 points (11 goals, 18 assists) in 30 games. Her 18 assists set a PWHL single-season record. She totaled 44 points (20 goals, 24 assists) in 58 regular-season games with Minnesota, along with five points (three goals, two assists) in 11 playoff appearances.

As a rookie in 2024-25, Curl-Salemme recorded 15 points (nine goals, six assists), earned All-Rookie Team honors and helped Minnesota win its second straight Walter Cup.
