Minnesota’s Weather Authority has issued a Forecast First ALERT for Wednesday afternoon and evening due to the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms.
Before we get there, we have a couple of hot and humid days ahead. Tonight remains partly cloudy and muggy with temperatures only falling into the upper 60s.
Tuesday will feel very much like the middle of summer. Highs climb to around 90°, and when you factor in the humidity, it could feel closer to 95° to 100° at times. Most of the day looks dry, but thunderstorms are expected to develop overnight Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning.
Our primary focus, however, remains Wednesday.
The Storm Prediction Center currently places much of Minnesota, including the Twin Cities metro, under an Enhanced Risk (Level 3 out of 5) for severe thunderstorms. While details will continue to evolve over the next 48 ...
