The fitness pioneer who brought beachside workouts into millions of homes died June 9 in Hawaii.

HONOLULU — Gilad Janklowicz, the fitness instructor whose syndicated TV program "Bodies in Motion" brought daily exercise routines to viewers newly captivated by the aerobics movement of the 1980s and '90s, has died at age 71.

His death was confirmed on his social media accounts. Although a cause was not disclosed, his partner described his death as a "sudden passing." He died Tuesday, June 9. 

In 1983, Janklowicz launched "Bodies in Motion," the first nationally syndicated half-hour fitness show to be taped entirely on location, filmed on the beaches of Hawaii. The program aired on ESPN from 1985 to 1996, before later moving to Discovery Fit and Health. Other...
