ST PAUL, Minn. — Two of the dozens of defendants in the infamous Feeding Our Future meal fraud scheme were sentenced Wednesday, each receiving sentences of more than four years.
Abdihakim Ali Ahmed was sentenced to 54 months, while Ahmed Abdullahi Ghedi was sentenced to 65 months in prison. Both were also ordered to pay restitution -- Ahmed to pay $2,242,590 and Ghedi $2,862,451.
Prosecutors say that Ghedi claimed to operate a child nutrition site in St. Paul from 2020 to 2022. He and his co-conspirators claimed to serve meals to 2,000 to 3,000 children seven days a week.
