A man accused of stealing a woman’s skull was sentenced to 90 days in jail, followed by probation and a ban on working at other funeral homes.
Benjamin Hanson was sentenced in St. Croix County Court in Wisconsin for one count of hiding a corpse. His sentence will be 90 days in jail. Following his sentence, Hanson will need to serve four years of probation, during which he will need to maintain “absolute sobriety” and will be banned from working in a funeral home or other funeral industry.
Hanson was the man believed to be behind a 2002 cold case that remained unsolved for over two decades when Boy Scouts discovered a skull while camping in Somerset Township.
