Edina’s Chase Bjorgaard caps remarkable senior year with chance at another state title

The crack of the bat still means something special to Chase Bjorgaard.

After a whirlwind senior year that included starring roles in football and hockey, baseball has become the final chapter of one of the most memorable athletic runs in recent Minnesota high school sports history.

“You know going through football and all of that, getting your body beat up. Then the same thing with hockey in a different way,” Bjorgaard said. “Then you roll into baseball here and you’re ready to go have fun with the boys.”

Bjorgaard first grabbed statewide attention during football season, when he helped lead Edina to a Class 6A state championship. In the title game, he rushed for more than 300 yards and scored six touchdowns in a performance that quickly gained traction online.
