Thousands of Medicaid providers are waiting on appeals after the state removed them from the program.

The Department of Human Services (DHS) reviewed nearly 5,600 providers and disenrolled about 3,400. The review is part of a federal agreement after the government threatened to withhold $2 billion over fraud concerns.
