Coon Rapids unveiled new AED stations in parks, aiming to improve emergency response for sudden cardiac arrests.

COON RAPIDS, Minn. — Coon Rapids cut the ribbon on new park additions Wednesday afternoon, which they hope can save lives.

The city is introducing its new "save station" at Sand Creek Athletic Complex while another one also went up at Riverwind Park.

Each station includes an AED to help speed up responses for a sudden cardiac arrest. The outdoor cabinets keep the AED out of the elements and include lights so it's visible at night.

They were donated to the city by the Coon Rapids Fire Department Community Fund and the North Star Lions Club.
