The driver in a fatal hit-and-run that killed a former Army medic in Minneapolis has been charged.

Court records show Riniyah Brinique Allen, 19, was charged last week with one count of second-degree murder and two counts of criminal vehicular homicide in connection with the death of Amos Ferrier, who was working at a nonprofit coffee shop at the time of the incident.

Two accomplices, Janaya and Jordan Frost, were each charged with one count of aiding an offender earlier in May for their role in the fatal hit-and-run.

Ferrier served as an Army medic in Iraq and is credited with saving several lives. He was the internship director for the veteran-focused nonprofit Every Third Saturday, which runs the coffee shop.
