There will be more law enforcement patrols in Brooklyn Park this weekend out of “an abundance of caution.”
The weekend will mark the one-year anniversary of the shooting deaths of former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, both of whom were killed by a man disguised as a police officer who came to their door late at night. They lived in Brooklyn Park.
Vance Boelter admitted in federal court yesterday to being behind the attack, pleading guilty to all charges he had been facing in Melissa and Mark’s death and another attack against the Hoffman family. State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, survived after each being shot many times by Boelter.
