WASHINGTON — NASA astronauts aboard the International Space Station were told Friday morning they can return to normal operations after two air leaks led crew to begin safety procedures.
NASA spokesperson Bethany Stevens confirmed the air leaks on Friday, saying the cracks on a Russia segment of the station were always a concern that the space agency has "closely watched."
The astronauts moved into a SpaceX capsule that is docked at the station while cosmonauts worked to repair the leak, which is on the Russian side of the orbiting laboratory, Stevens said.
