Rodeo Bo survived a lightning strike that killed another horse in Pennsylvania, but his owner says he faces a long recovery from severe muscle damage.

PERRY COUNTY, Pa. — A 30-year-old rodeo horse is recovering after surviving a lightning strike that killed another horse in Pennsylvania.

Rodeo Bo and another horse, Tango, were inside a shed Thursday night, Aug. 27 when lightning struck them both. Tango was killed, while Bo survived the severe electrocution and is now facing a long road to recovery.

His owner, Rachel Mullen, called Bo’s survival a miracle.

"To sustain what he has sustained and be recovering from it is unheard of,” Mullen said. “It's a miracle."
