Joey Rodriguez suffered a severe head injury after falling from a vehicle Thursday night following the Spurs series win over the OKC Thunder.

SAN ANTONIO — The family of a 17-year-old boy is mourning after he was declared brain-dead following an accident while celebrating the Spurs' Western Conference Finals Game 6 victory, according to his family.

Joey Rodriguez suffered a severe head injury after falling from a vehicle on the night of May 28, according to San Antonio police.

Rodriguez's grandmother told KENS 5 that he was declared brain-dead the next day. 

According to police, Rodriguez was celebrating the Spurs' win when he fell from the vehicle and suffered the head injury.
