Twelve people were shot, and two people were critically injured, but no suspects have been arrested as of Saturday night, Toledo police said.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Twelve people were shot, with two critically injured, Saturday evening near the Old West End Festival, an annual gathering of live music and home tours, Toledo police said during a news conference. 

Toledo police Deputy Chief Joe Heffernan said officers responded quickly to the incident. Police said at least two shooters appeared to be shooting at each other.

No suspects were in custody as of Saturday night. Heffernan said the investigation is still in its early stages, and police are following up on leads.
